I received these bottles of barbecue sauce from Swanky Sauce, courtesy of a campaign from Foodie Tribe. The website for Swanky Sauce is at www.getswankysauce.com, and I decided to use their sauce to make some Honey BBQ Wings. It is a recipe adapted from a recipe I found here: https://www.buzzfeed.com/alvinzhou/wing-party?utm_term=.wtyMPoM0Y#.hp73P43lM. I decided to modify a few things based on my own trial and error. Honey BBQ Wings
You will need:
1 cup flour
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper (I used Trader Joe's Everyday Seasoning)
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
30-40 chicken wings and/or drumettes
1 cup BBQ sauce (I used Swanky Sauce's Habanero Honey)
½ cup honey
Total time: 1 hour. Serves 6-8.
1. Pre-heat the oven to 425°F. Rinse the wings and drumettes and pat them dry. In a bowl, combine flour, chili powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Coat the wings in the dry mixture evenly, shaking off any excess. Line two baking sheets with foil or parchment paper and coat with butter or cooking spray. Place the wings and drumettes onto the baking sheets in a single layer. Bake for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until skin is crispy and golden brown. Increase the oven temperature to 500°F.
2. In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce and the honey. Take the wings and drumettes out and dip each one in the mixture to coat them evenly. Place the coated wings back onto the baking sheets, spreading them in a single layer. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized. Cool and serve!
I hope you enjoyed my post about this amazing BBQ sauce from Swanky Sauce. I loved the Habanero BBQ Sauce that I used. It had a smoky flavor and I could not get enough of it. Please go to www.getswankysauce.com and use my code at check-out for 5% discount on all orders: nomsandbeyond.
