December 2017 Recap!

December was a memorable month!  Even though I did not attend as many media events, I made lasting memories with travels and food adventures!  I can't believe 2017 is over!

1) TeaShot (Los Angeles, CA) - @tastethisnext

We stopped by to check out the cookie shots and the superfood lattes.  I loved the cookie shots.  We got the Vanilla Holiday and Cookies N Cream cookie shots filled with milk and Vietnamese milk coffee.  I loved how cute the cookie shots were and how soft (but durable) the texture was!  We also got the Golden Latte and the Love Latte.  I felt very healthy drinking the lattes and they were so photogenic too!

2) Cauldron Ice Cream (Glendale, CA) - @cauldronicecream @foodwithsoy
@eatersanonymous and @tpham

We were so happy that Cauldron had finally opened up a location in LA County!  I loved that the location was within walking distance from The Americana and The Glendale Galleria.  I got to try one of their seasonal flavors, Gingerbread!  It was such a cute cone!  I loved the flavor of the ice cream and how festive it looked with the graham cracker sprinkles and gingerbread man on top.

3) Bumsan Organic Milk Bar (Los Angeles, CA) - @eatersanonymous and @tpham

We got invited to come check out their seasonal flavor, Salted Caramel!  It was a very delicious flavor and I got it in a swirl form with Chocolate.  They had fun toppings such as Caramel Toffee and Candy Cane Crush so it was fun trying them out!

Other December events/collaborations:

I attended the Cultural Industry Summit (through Revele, Inc.) at The Beverly Hilton.  I was able to attend one panel about the culinary trends of 2018.  The panel, moderated by Krista Simmons of Fork in the Road Media, included Amir Vahdani of the Four Seasons, Adam Fleischman of the Umami Restaurant Group, and Hannah An of The District by Hannah An.  They spoke on staying on top of the constantly changing trends and keep the theme around comfort food, not just temporary trends like Flavor of the Week, but to focus on healthy, balanced, flavorful, and plant-based ingredients.  The panel advocated staying focused on the customer experience and needs when they dine at a restaurant while still staying true to the values of the business.

We were invited by Crityk (through Foodietribe) to come check out the brunch items at Del Frisco’s Grille in Pasadena, CA as well as to help promote the Crityk app.  The food was great and we got to sample everything from the Pomegranate Margarita to all the brunch items.  The app itself was pretty fun to use, as it lets users find out where and what to eat based on other people's reviews; users can also search based on their needs/preferences.  As an app user, it was pretty easy since all I had to do was upload the photo, label the dish and put some hashtags, and rate the dish!

Minos Living wanted to share with me their beautiful coffee sets.  I got the coffee set with a Moka Pot, sugar bowl and creamer pitcher.  Their quality was so great and I loved that I could change the colors of the handle for the coffee pot!
