Plan Check Kitchen & Bar was having a #MadeinLA cocktail series, where they collaborated with a different distillery each month throughout the summer. We were invited for their launch party featuring Mulholland Whiskey. We got the Manhattan with Mulholland Whiskey, Bavarian Pretzel, Pimento Cheese Dip, and Dynamite Crab Dip.
It was so awesome that there was finally an American brunch spot in this area of the San Gabriel Valley, and I was so excited because everything was egg-themed! We got the Norwegian Benedict and the House French Toast. Everything was delicious, and the French toast reminded me of the Cereal French Toast from Blu Jam Cafe.
Other September collaborations/events:
Barr Hill Gin and Caledonia Spirits wanted me to create the Bee’s Knees cocktail as part of promoting Bee’s Knees Week, a nationwide fundraiser where a community of local bartenders could participate by serving that cocktail as part of their menu. A portion of the proceeds would go toward saving the bees. The purpose of this fundraiser is to educate people on the importance of bees in pollination and to the ecosystem. It was such a great cause!
